TRAIL RUNNING

Trail Running is a sports combined of running and hiking offroad. It has a lot of difference from road running and any other running sports. Trail running ussually takes place on dirt roads or on the mountains which consist of technical trails, steep and long ascents and knee struggling descents.

Trail running reduces injuries because of the soft surface of the trails, strengthen core muscles, build up mental capacity to over come technical circumstances, Burn calories, improve balance and agility

 

Trail Running Gears / Checklist

Proper gear and equipment’s are highly recommended for this technical sports.

  • TRAIL RUNNING SHOES

This type of shoes offers high traction on rugged/offroad terrain. which has deep lugs and bigger threads to give stability and better footing. Even tho trail running shoes are made from light weight material foot protection are not being compromised by placing hidden plates to protect runners foot from rocks and roots.

CROSS TRAINING

Since trail running requires great stamina, Strong core muscles and big amount of endurance cross training are highly suggested while  not on training / running. From Swimming, Biking, Yoga and a lot more.

Here are some examples of good cross training that can be done at home (you can do your own routine depending on what you focus on)

– Plank with rotation
– up and down plank
– flutter kicks
– leg raise
– air bike crunch

leg (calf and quads)
– calf raise with weights
– Squat jump
– lunges with weights
– side lunges with weights
– interval wall sit

Upper body
– Push ups
– overhead press
– bench press
– bentover row
– one arm row

Running on the trails or in the woods satisfies one souls
craving for nature.
