Mizuno Wave Ibuki
Mizuno Wave Ibuki by Maricel Degamo
Being new to the trail running community. First thing that I’ve learned that is very important to consider is the shoe. You must get the right one and the one that fits to you and will protect you in running different kinds of terrains, so that you can run properly and will bring out your best potential. And it is also important to have your gait analysis (assessing the way in which you walk or run) before purchasing the right shoe for you.
Luckily, I was privileged to be able try out this one of kind design from the brand Mizuno, one of the leading brands of shoes on this kind of sport, combined with the Mizuno technologies wave, dynamotionfit, airmesh, EL8 and X10, the Wave Ibuki. Learning all how this all summed up within this shoe, made me feel more excited to test this shoe.
So, I tested this on the Cordillera mountains for my very first trail run race. And it did not disappoint me, I was feeling confident all throughout the race and was able to finish strong and safe no “runner’s toe” and blisters because of its protective toe cap and cushioned midsole, no terrain is too tough. I was amazed I managed to assault the stiffness of the trails and my favorite part was the downhill attack which made me feel literally, like flying, the moderate cushioning made it extremely lightweight and together with X10 technology(most durable carbon rubber that allows for longer wear in high impact areas and supplements traction at heel strike). The EL8 technology (lightweight midsole compound) provided high level cushioning and rebound helped me with achieving efficient run. The Airmesh design provided me comfort in the upper because of the utmost breathability enduring the mid-day heat of the sun. The dynamotionfit (motion capture and biomechanics technology) provided additional comfort in every single stride and the waveTop of Form, a unique midsole technology inspired by nature, that provides both cushioning and stability, the unique shape absorbs and disperses the impact of foot strike, which results in a smoother, more cushioned feel on every step.
To sum it all up, I can say this shoe has been perfect for me, and the simple design and color which, I love, you can still stay fashionable in this kind of sport. And looking forward to more trail-running races with my new buddy, Wave Ibuki.
